daylight beacon operation
Operation of an airport rotating beacon during the hours of daylight means that the reported ground visibility in the controlled zone is less than 3 miles (5 km) and/or the reported ceiling is less than 1000 ft (300 m) and that ATC (air traffic control) clearance is required for landing, take-off, and flight in a traffic pattern.
